We've always been big fans of veteran session guitarist Nicky Moroch's playing here at Indigo. And when we got the chance to ask him what he wanted in an "ultimate" amp, we jumped at it. We knew he liked what he heard in our McD. But he told us he was looking for more. Something with more power, chime and even more flexibility. It had to be as small as absolutely possible without sacrificing any of these features. And of course, it had to have incredible tone.

Armed with his wish list, we set out to build him just that. And, after a year of intense collaboration with Nicky, it was done. An amp that we were happy with. And one that he was finally proud to put his name on.

The El Mariachi. A salute to the frequent misspelling of his name on album credits (Nicky Mariachi), this amp just kicks. No bigger than our other head based amps (17 1/2"(w) x 8 1/2" (d) x 8" (h)), but packing 90 watts of pure KT88 based power and tone, while weighing in just shy of 27 lbs., this portable beast, is bound to become the guitar players Swiss army knife.

Like all of our amps, this one features eyelet board construction on Military grade glass epoxy boards (Garolite G10/FR-4). We also use the highest quality teflon coated wire, metal film resistors, and custom speced caps.
